Braves
The Braves had a great day. The Braves won consecutive games for the first time since the all star break and have seemed to turn it around. The Braves won on the backs of new addition Jorge Soler and Adam Duvall home runs. Although they played well the more important thing was the bullpen who pitched 5 shutout innings with Rodriguez, Matzek, Chavez, Jackson, and Smith. Although it was disappointing to not gain a game on the Phillies or Mets, dare I say THE BRAVES ARE BACK.
Hawks
The Hawks had a huge day. The Hawks re-signed one of their cornerstones in John Collins. Collins got a 5 year 125 million dollar deal with a player option on the last year. It was also announced later in the day that the contract will increase by 8% each year. As for Summer League, their first game is on Sunday, and their roster had a bit of a surprise on it, as it was released today. Cam Reddish was excluded from it. Although, it will include their two rookies in Shariffe Cooper and Jalen Johnson. The Hawks had there first practice today, and Sunday at 4 against the Celtics will be the first time we see them.
Falcons
The Falcons had another day of training camp. Today was nowhere near as eventful as past days. The only real news was how much better Cordarrelle Patterson, as he showed off his speed in a scrimmage. They are still just waiting for a chance to get back on the field at Mercedes, which is just next Friday against the Titans.
Atlanta United
Atlanta United played the 7th seeded CF Montreal, and tied yet again. Atlanta United played a solid first half, but the first 20 minutes of the second half killed them. Montreal scored a goal in the 63rd and 53rd minutes that ended up being what prevented them from a rare win. Although Atlanta United responded with a goal from Josef Martinez in the 65th minute. After that, on a breakaway with Josef Martinez, Josef got slid into resulting in a red card. Marcelino Moreno knocked in the penalty kick to tie the game. Then Martinez got into it with a Montreal player resulting in two red cards. Atlanta United tried to take advantage of the 10 on 9, but couldn’t quite find a way resulting in yet another tie. As for Atlanta United it’s back to the drawing board, as they try to prepare for Colombus on Saturday.
